I used to write songs for girls with names from the 50’s
Now I like to pretend that the 50’s never happened
I used to spend my nights kissing clever girls with piercings
Now I think there are holes in whatever used to give me feelings

I think our mediocrity is starting to show.

There was a time when I thought summer was never coming,
but then summer came and swept us apart.
I used to get so lost in your eyes and subtle insults,
now all that’s left is your sock in my drawer,
what was it for, what was it for?
